Infrared Imaging
We use an infrared camera to detect flaws in your home's shell. Infrared cameras can 'see' what is behind walls and pinpoint the areas where heat and cold are escaping, due to missing or poorly insulated areas, so they can be properly sealed and insulated. Infrared imaging will also identify inefficient windows and doors. This test is especially effective when combined with the blower door test.
Blower Door Test
A blower door test is used to evaluate the leakiness of your home. It is the most important test you can have done to improve your home's energy performance. The blower door test includes airflow measurement, house walkthrough and smoke testing.
Duct Pressure Test
A duct blaster test is performed to gauge the leakiness of the duct system. The duct pressure test is especially important when the ductwork is on outer walls or in unheated areas. Detecting uneven room temperatures can be a sign of leaky ductwork.
HERS Certification
Stumptail uses an energy efficiency software package to perform an energy analysis of your home. Included with a full inspection you will receive a report with HERS score, improvement analysis and all required compliance documents. The HERS Index is a scoring system established by the Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET).
